12. ○Therefore, my beloved, always obey, not only in my presence, but now even more so in my absence, and work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13. It is God who works in you both to will and to act for his good pleasure.
14. Do everything without complaining or arguing.
15. That you may be blameless and blameless, children of God blameless in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
16. Holding forth the word of life, so that I may have something to boast about on the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain and did not labor in vain.
17. And if I were to offer myself as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I would rejoice and rejoice with you all.
18. Likewise, rejoice and rejoice with me.

1. Salvation
1) Salvation is a gift that only God gives.
Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. 9 Not by works, so that no one can boast.
2) Only Jesus is the savior.
Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
3) Salvation is not through works but through faith.
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
My mother was born in Japan, and when she was liberated, she came to Korea. She said that her mother, who only knew Japanese, made her go to church so she could learn Korean. When she saw him again reading the Bible in church, she was so envious that she accepted Jesus. My mother married my father, and in my father’s family, my great-grandfather, grandfather, father, and uncle all believed in Jesus, and ultimately, all five brothers are pastors of the Salvation Army, the Presbyterian Church, and the Full Gospel. . He said he got married because he was jealous of his religious life. He was jealous of material things, but instead of giving them to himself, he asked his children to freeze them, praying for both the salvation of his life and the salvation of his soul. When we believers ask God for both life salvation and soul salvation at the same time, God gives us both at the same time and sometimes only soul salvation. Just like the beggar Lazarus, the most important thing for our believers to consider is not only to pray for salvation in life, but also to pray for the salvation of souls for themselves and all their family members.
2. Work out salvation
He told us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
Joshua 11:23 So Joshua took the whole land, as the Lord had spoken to Moses, and gave it to him as an inheritance according to the divisions of the tribes of Israel. And the war ceased in the land.
The Israelites who followed Moses out of Egypt finally crossed the Jordan. And the land was divided by lot according to the tribes of Israel. And the Bible says that war ceased in the land.
And small wars began again as each tribe drove out the natives in their own tribe’s land.
1) It was said that the descendants of the tribe of Judah could not be driven out.
Joshua 15:63 The people of Judah did not drive out the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem. So the Jebusites reside in Jerusalem with the people of Judah to this day.
2) It is said that even the tribe of Ephraim could not drive out the Canaanites.
Joshua 16:10 They did not drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer, so the Canaanites live in the midst of Ephraim to this day and are slaves.
3) It is said that even the tribe of Manasseh was unable to drive out the Canaanites.
Joshua 17:12 But when the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities, the Canaanites resolved to dwell in the land.
Joshua 23:13 Know for sure that the LORD your God will no longer drive out these nations before your eyes; they will be a snare and a trap for you, a scourge on your side and a thorn in your eyes, until you I will destroy you from this good land that the LORD your God is giving you.
It is said that they were unable to drive them out even during the time of the Judges, and that the descendants of Benjamin were unable to drive out the Jebusites, and the tribe of Manasseh was also unable to drive them out.
Judges 1:19 The LORD was with Judah, and he drove out the inhabitants of the hill country, but he could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
Judges 1:21 But the children of Benjamin could not drive out the Jebusites who dwelt in Jerusalem; so the Jebusites reside with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day.
Judges 1:27 Manasseh chased out the inhabitants of Bethshean and its villages, Taanach and its villages, Dor and its villages, Ibleam and its villages, Megiddo and its villages. When they could not, the Canaanites decided to live in the land.
It is said that he only drove out Caleb.
In Joshua 15:14, and in Judges 1:20, it says that Caleb drove the sons of Anak out of the land, and in Judges 1:10, it says that the sons of Anak were killed by Judah.
Our fight for spiritual salvation is also like this. Salvation is complete. It was completed on the cross of Jesus. Salvation is something we complete in our lives with fear and trembling.
Spiritually, just as the devil is promoting the fight in the world, our spiritual fight continues to be through sin, causing us to live as the devil’s children. The only way to cut off these children of the devil is to receive forgiveness of sins and salvation in the name of Jesus Christ.
In the book Lessons of History, Will Durant said that in the 3,400 years of human civilization, there were only 268 years without war. The history of mankind is a history of war. Like this, we fight against the devil every day in our lives. Therefore, as we live, we work towards salvation every day with fear and trembling.
3. The process of achieving salvation!
1) Living without resentment and arguments.
14. Do everything without complaining or arguing.
As the Israelites passed through the wilderness, they lived in resentment and quarrel, and were eventually killed.
1) The Israelites complained at the Red Sea. (Exodus 14:11-12),
2) After crossing the Red Sea, they complained and resented the bitter waters of Mari. Exodus 15:23-24
3) They grumbled and complained because there was no meat and bread in the wilderness of Sin. Exodus 16:2-3
4) At Rephidim in front of Mt. Sinai, they grumbled and complained that there was no water. Exodus 17:3
5) At Tabera, they grumbled and complained with evil words. Numbers 11:1-3
6) At Kibroth Hattaavah, they grumbled and complained about the meat. Numbers 11:4-6
7) After hearing the report of the spies at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran, they complained and complained about running to Egypt. Numbers 14:1-3
8) The descendants of Korah and the 250 chieftains complained and quarreled with Moses and Aaron. Numbers 16:3,13),
9) They grumbled and complained that there was no water, figs, grapes, or pomegranates in Kadesh. Numbers 20:4-5
10) On Mount Hor, they grumbled and complained because they had no food to eat or water to drink other than manna. Numbers 21:5
Just like the Israelites, we live our whole lives complaining, complaining, and fighting, causing problems.
Numbers 14:22 Those who have seen my glory and the wonders I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, but who have tested me ten times and have not obeyed my voice, 23 they will never see the land that I swore to their fathers. No one who despises me will see it. 24 But my servant Caleb has a different spirit and has followed me wholeheartedly. I will bring him into the land he went into, and his descendants will inherit it.
4. In a crooked and perverse generation
15. That you may be blameless and blameless, children of God blameless in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
Nine out of 10 pastors in the United States say the second coming of Jesus is near. This is the content reported by the Baptist Press of the Southern Baptist Convention, the most authoritative denomination in the United States. Lifeway Research, located in Nashville, USA, conducted a telephone survey of 1,000 evangelical and black church pastors in the United States from January 24 to February 11 of this year. Three out of four American pastors responded that Jesus’ words are consistent with the phenomena occurring in our time. Among them, ‘false prophets and false teachings (83%)’, ‘the love of many believers has cooled (81%)’, ‘rejection of traditional morality’ (79%), ‘war and ethnic conflict’ (78%), and ‘earthquakes’ and other natural disasters’ (76%), ‘People leaving the Christian faith’ (75%) [Source] Christian daily newspaper Christian Ilbo
This is a crooked and perverse generation.
2 Timothy 3 1. Know this, that in the last days perilous times will come, 2. when people will be lovers of their own selves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3. unloving and ungrateful. He is a slanderer, lacks self-control, is fierce, does not like what is good,
4. Traitors, hasty, conceited, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. 5. Having a form of godliness, but denying its power. Turn away from such people.
The world of Adam and Eve had only one word of God.
That is, do not eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. In the time of Moses, there were 10 commandments. 10 more commandments have been added. Because the current era is a corrupted and distorted generation, we must make constant efforts to live as true believers and blameless children of God. There is so much inherent sin around us. It is a civilization that is sexually corrupt (Sodom and Gomorrah) and full of idols (Jezebel era), and in this era we live in pleasure
